Delta CareStandard is a set of protocols created by Delta Airlines in partnership with the Mayo Clinic and other highly recognized health organizations. Through this program, the company aims to improve the safety of flying in general and make it possible to resume international travel. This new change will allow people to visit Europe without having to quarantine.
Here’s How To Visit Europe Without Having To Quarantine
Delta CareStandard to Create Travel Bubble
Recently, Delta announced that it will be creating a three-week international flight trial between Atlanta and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands. The trial will incorporate the protocols already in place along with all flights being COVID-tested. With these combined efforts, Delta aims to create a travel bubble in which passengers can safely fly without fear of contracting COVID. Tickets for these new flights are available now through departure dates of January 6, 2021.
How the Travel Bubble Works
Passengers that choose to fly on these new COVID-tested flights will be able to forego the quarantining process upon arrival to the Netherlands after taking a PCR test and receiving a negative result. This test will be given in a special testing area and will be provided at no additional cost to passengers participating in the program. Although, this clear passengers for the city of Amsterdam, those who are traveling from the city to other destinations must ensure that they meet all entry requirements for those destinations.
Where to Get Initial Testing
Delta has partnered with CVS for their COVID-tested flights. Although not required, Delta representatives state that: “While we understand it may not be an option for all travelers, CVS Health is a provider who we have engaged to administer testing for our employees and flight personnel.”
If passengers would like to choose a different testing provider, Delta offers a Find a PCR Test Provider Near You, an online resource to help passengers quickly and easily find a convenient testing location.
Additionally, as part of the Delta CareStandard initiative, customers aged 13 and over are required to complete the Traveler Public Health Declaration Form before departing for Amsterdam, They are required to keep the form with them for verification purposes throughout the rest of their trip.
Finally, Delta’s COVID-tested flights require passengers to take a COVID-19 PCR test at a provider of their choosing within 120 hours of their arrival time.
Delta CareStandard and COVID-Tested Flights Could Make Travel Safe Again
While there are no guarantees with this pandemic, judging by current data on the virus, the Delta CareStandard and their COVID-tested flights could be just the combination to make international travel a possibility sooner rather than later. The planning surrounding this travel bubble seems to have covered all the bases, making it a promising new way to fly in these new times.
