I was just reminiscing about my trip to Oahu when Reese and I had the spectacular pleasure of staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. You can (and should!) revisit my post on our stay. It is there that we found the best luau in Oahu. No, seriously.
While the entire experience of staying at this hotel was nothing short of sublime, Reese and I had to agree the luau Hilton Hawaiian Village was the best luau in Honolulu. It takes place on the rooftop at the hotel and features an absolutely divine buffet. That’s worth it alone. Oh, that food!
But along with the heavenly experience of the luau food, the best luau in Oahu, better known as the Starlight Luau, has an incredible Pacific Island performance featuring cultural heritage at its finest. Hours of fun await that are a delight for kids and adults alike.

The Starlight Luau is definitely the best luau in Oahu because it has the traditional Polynesian dances, live island music, and drums, and to cap it all off, there’s a stunning starlight show. I’m so glad I took a video of that. Take a look and you’ll get a feel for how wonderful it was.
We thought it was the best luau in Honolulu simply because of the attention to detail that went into everything, which made it all the more magical. Tropical drinks, live music, souvenir photos, interactive Polynesian activities…the list goes on and on. Reese and I had a blast because the Starlight Luau does so much more than invite you to sit back, eat, drink, and watch the show. You can participate in conch shell-blowing challenges or even take a hula lesson.
The best luau in Oahu begins before the sun sets. You get that majestic view from the hotel while you treat yourself to the buffet. When I close my eyes, I can still taste the food. Kalua pork, barbecue brisket, seared island fish…oh, I may need to pack my bags and get back for the luau Hilton Hawaiian Village ASAP.
For me, going to Hawaii was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and the best luau in Oahu completed that experience like nothing else could. It was one of my best memories from the trip, one that gave us a perfect taste of Polynesian culture. I think the luau at the Hilton Hawaiian Village has refined the art of the luau, making it the best luau in Honolulu by miles.
We were lucky enough to have had this luau recommended to us over all the other luaus. I’m so glad we listened! It was such a phenomenal experience that whenever I’m having one of those days, I imagine myself there and I can’t help but smile.
