Photography stresses me out and when it's your job as a travel blogger to bring to life the places you experience it can be nerve-wracking getting the perfect shot. Add to the fact that I often travel solo or with just Reese, it can be really hard capturing these moments.

I've done everything from begging strangers on the street (which is always scary) since I never know if I'll get my camera back. To, wrapping my camera around a tree with a gorilla pod and using the self-timer. Not only is this time consuming, but it's really hard to not feel like a total nut job while doing it.

There had to be a better way! When a friend of mine showed me pictures from a trip her and her family had taken I was blown away. I remember saying, “Wow, who took these”, to which she replied “Flytographer“. That one word changed the way I captured travel memories from that point on!

If documenting your travel adventures is important to you and you don't want the stress of taking your own travel photos, check out my 5 Reasons To Hire A Travel Photographer.

My mind was blown when I discovered all the locations you could book a Flytographer session. They are in over 200 locations covering all the hot spots such as Los Angeles, New York, Hawaii, Paris, and London and several non-touristy locations such as Krakow, Cluj-Napocca, Istanbul, and Yangon. In short, if your passport can get you there, chances are Flytographer can meet you there!

To book a session with Flytographer head over to their website (Flytographer.com) and select your destination. You will be given a list of photographers in the area and an opportunity to read their bio and view their online portfolio. Once you have narrowed down your choice you can submit an inquiry. This part took me almost 2 hours because seriously, every single one of them was amazing and I couldn't pick. I'm not ashamed to admit I flipped a coin.

You are then directed to select the type of shoot you want (vacation or proposal) as well as your preferred shoot date and up to 5 backup dates. Once you have locked in your date you can select your shoot length. They offer 30-minute session up to 3 hours, each option coming with a set number of included photos. You are giving the option to communicate important details to your photographer. Things like specific time restrictions, number of people attending, what your vision is for the shoot etc.

From here, your inquiry is sent to your personal Flytographer concierge (fancy huh lol), who will act as the go-between for you and your photographer hashing out the details of the shoot and the meeting location. I loved this part and my concierge was amazing at relaying the specifics of what we needed to photographed.

I had envisioned shooting at this amazing beach I had seen pictures of online and let my concierge know. I'm happy I did because she immediately informed me that 1. That particular beach gets extremely crowded this time of year so it's best to avoid it unless you want photos full of random people. 2. The waves are massive and it's not a good spot for kids (even at the shore). and 3. It was very far from where we were staying and would be really out of our way. I found this information invaluable as these are things we would have never known as visitors. Our concierge was able to take my vision and suggest another location that was just as good (and actually better I later discovered).

I put a value on my time, so when I calculated the time I would have spent researching and hiring a photographer on my own, the risk I was taking on the quality of their work, the stress of hoping my “craigslist photographer” actually showed up versus the hand holding you get from your personal Flytographer concierge, their service is really invaluable. The turn around time is very fast and is about a week. This type of speed is something you usually have to pay extra for when hiring a regular photographer. I love that Flytographer offers options for almost every budget with 30 min sessions starting as low as $250.00 which includes 15 professionally edited photos.

I can not even begin to tell you how much we loved Sarah! Not only was she super kind and sweet, but she was very easy to talk to, amazing with kids (Reese adored her and STILL asks about her), and she had amazing ideas for helping bring my vision to life. The photos we received back where simply beautiful and 100% exactly what I wanted.

Reese and I felt so comfortable with her which allowed us to really open up. We never once felt rushed but somehow she managed to take so many pictures that after about 15 minutes I was out of ideas lol. She was helpful in pointing out nearby locations that would also be great as well as gave us tips on things we should check out before we headed home. I typically make it a point to not revisit locations I already traveled to, however, I would make an exception for Hawaii just to shoot with Sarah again.

If you find yourself in Hawaii make sure to book with Sarah and if you find yourself in another Flytographer city make sure you give them a chance. They will change the way you capture memories. To book your session, visit Flytographer.com
